testing for blown coilovers?
testing for blown coilovers?
how do you test to see if a set of coilovers is blown? currently they are not in the car, so i cant really do that bounce test...
but what i did was loosened the collars all the way down, so that the spring is loose, and compressed the shock, and waited to see if it would come back up on its own... is this a good way to test them?
cheers,Dan.

All gas pressurized shocks should push the shaft all the way out of the body ...with this said all that you are testing is that the shock still has some pressure in it however pressure is only one peice of the puzzle the part you are interested in is the shim stack which can only be tested on a dyno...soo if your really concerned and you have spent over say $ 500 on them send them out to have them dynoed if not simply buy tokicko and replace every few years.
