TEIN suspensions parts for my 87 FC
I just recently aquired my 87 Base FC, and i am looking into doing a TII swap or even a complete JDM conversion, but i do have to think about suspension, and i came across the Tein setups.
Does anyone know anything good or bad about these units?
i am looking into getting the RA setup, so heres the pieces available to me
all in all the most flexible.... (this is what i think i want)

total drift setup

the typical street setup

RA is a single perch system in the price range of a twin perch. Meaning when you lower your vehicle with the RA's you will lose spring preload and ride quality.

Aaaagree! Those RA's are way to stiff for the street and I even thought for auto-x'n.... The rear end would pitch really easy
Rishie, I dig those GP's... how much are they?

The GP's are pretty darn inexpensive. For those not desiring an inverted setup they would go for GP sports retailing around $1500.00. For inverted setup go with Silkroads which retail around the same price.
The GP to my knowledge have an aluminum casing. I will need to double check. The anodized finished leads me to believe such.
We have a shipment of both coming at the end of the month.
As an FYI, I am running the Zeal B2 suspension on my FC which is just like the RA features wise. It is a single perch system but very comfortable for street and buildable for track. You can request your setup. This is only reason I would choose a B2 over the RA.
Now bang for buck, GP and Silk take the cake. Your only downsides to those suspension systems would be lack of custom options and warranty replacement might take about 4-6 weeks as the parts would most likely be special ordered from japan and then brought in.
Zeal on the other hand offers both custom valving/spring rates, and internal overhauling. Zeal has been established in US since 99 so they have been in the market a little longer and as a result have these services readily available.
