Tein S-Tech review

Finally got around to installing my Tein S-Tech springs today on my 93 R1. They went on stock R1 shocks. The install wasnt bad considering i was working alone. The front was a bit of a pain due to having to partially remove the upper a-arms. The rear was super easy. Took me about 3.5-4 hours, but like i said, working alone in the driveway slowed me down a bit. Anyhow, took the car out for a drive afterwards, about 30 miles of combined highway, tight and twisty backroads. All I can say is WOW! What a difference these springs make. Not only does it give the car a perfect stance (imho), but handling is dramatically improved. The car stays much more flat in the turns and seems to respond much faster, there is also less dive on hard braking. To my surprise, the car rides better on both smooth and rough roads, seems to eliminate bumps that i used to feel with the stockers. This is how the car should have come stock. To make it even better, these springs are a great bargain, you can grab a set on ebay now for about $150 shipped. I would recommend these springs to anyone looking into suspension upgrades.

Yep, I didn't get to enjoy them too much before my engine went up in smoke; but what I did drive on them I really liked. I was contemplating on going with a coilover, but after the track day with them I had decide to put off coilovers for a year or two.
