NY Tein mono-flex with edfc active pro

Hey Guys,

I am in the market for upgrade coilovers. I really wants the Ohlin Road and Track but the new EDFC with active pro seems very attractive. I have an FD looking for a street monster that I can take to the track and still perform very well. I know the ohlins are proven and the reviews are great but I really like the capability to adjust the damping on the fly and also "automatic adjustment of damping force according to the changes in longitudinal G-force and vehicle speed".
I live in New York which most know the roads are real bad. But in long island they are some nice back roads which I wanna rip. The damping adjustments will come in handy when driving on the street I'm sure. But will it perform as well as or close to Ohlin on the track? Does anyone have experience will Mono-Flex or Flex with EDFC Active?

Thanks

Shaun

I have had the tein flex for about 6 years now but I have the standard edfc, not the edfc active...

I can only speak for myself but I don't think the edfc is a huge advantage...After I settled on a particular damping setting I hardly ever changed it...

I do not have much experience driving on different coilovers on the fd but in my opinion the tein flex is a very good coilover for road and track for stock sized tyres...I found that stock width toyo r888 were a bit too grippy and needed a bit more spring rate...On the street the flex is not uncomfortable at all...

Whether they are as good as the Ohlins I can't say as yet...I just received my set of Ohlins but did not install them as yet...I will be sure to write a review when I finally get them installed...Although I believe the difference between them will be greater when they are driven at the track or during "spirited" street driving...

I think you'll be happier with Ohlins... you don't really want valving to be at full stiff at the track and vice versa, when spring rates get high enough to be track worthy, lowering the damping will just make the car ride worse (the spring oscillates too fast)
