Tein Flex install help

Before I place this on my car, does anyone have a base measurement/collar locations to help me at least get in the right ball park. I am going to be running stock rims/tires.
Thanks
Tony

i have my tiens at maybe 1/4 inch between collars and its pretty low. start with maybe 1/2-3/4 inch gap and see how you like it. it will still be fairly low but you can always raise it back up

that's only marginally helpful because both the shock body adjustment (overall length) and the lower spring perch (preload/droop) affect ride height

the distance between collars is completely subjective because no information was given regarding either of the above settings.

Just start high, and work down.... didtance adjusted on the coilover will be equal to about double that in actual car height.

generally rule should be if you have to ask, dont even **** with the spring perches. thats what my "measurements" are going by because i didnt touch them.

but true, so consider that

i believe i read somewhere you shouldnt adjust off the car. i dont see why you would want to they are made to be done on the car pretty easily.

I set my spring perches so the springs were just set in place, not loose and not gonna fall off the perch (like so many Ground Control setups do! ...clunk when you lower the car off the jack)

then I set the lowest perch / shock height so the shock body was an inch above the bottom of the cup / bottom mount that it sits into.

good luck mang, tein flex = nice!

Even if you bought them used, they have the manual on the Tein site:

http://www.tein.com/ti/inst/6m32u.pdf

I set mine to those specs (I also bought them used) and only had to adjust them slightly when I corner weighed the car.

my flex's are set pretty unevenly to get an even ride height. i dunno what it is.. but all of my rx7s sat unevenly. the passenger side was always lower when i had just springs (i swapped them side to side, made no difference). coilovers fixed that.
set your preload before you put them on, but for actual ride height, just throw em on, drive the car for a second, then check the corners. keep adjusting until its where you want them.
oh, and make your final setting while parked on cement. pavement is hardly ever even..
