Tein Coilovers

Does anyone know what the difference is in the TEIN type FLEX's and the TEIN HA's? From everything I can find the only differences are that the HA's are only 16 way adjustable instead of 32 (but you have to buy new spring for the flex's in order to use all 32 adjustments anyway so they are basically equal in that sense), and the HA's aren't compatible with the EDFC. The spring rates and height adjustments look the same to me (as far as I can find).

I know the HA's are no longer available new but I'm a college student on a budget and was looking in the used market anyway. I've also heard some good things about ZEAL coilovers. I haven't seen any come up used on the forum though so I probably can't afford them. I know ARD T2 does alot with the ZEALs. I'd be interested in them for the right price. I know FLEX's new will run me about $1400. I'm looking to spend under $1000 for a used set.

Thanks for your help guys.

thew flex are better HA's, i never liked how the HA's or HE's were damped.

a couple places you can check for good pricing are
http://www.unnaturalinc.com/ (you will have to call them)
http://dragdriftautox.com/index.htm (his site is down for upgrades, so again you will have to call)

I have purchased from both multiple times and they are both very to work with.

What was the difference? If the springs are the same and the shocks are adjustable then the ride should be the same.

Does anyone know about the HR's? I put a WTB post in the classified section and got someone offering Tein HR's for 850 shipped. He didn't know the info on them though. Does anyone know the Spring rates/adjustablility of the HR's? Thanks guys.

I found a set of new tein flex for $1025 shipped for my FC off one of the rx7 forums, I have been happy with them ever since, they are perfect for street use and autox... probably a little wimpy for all-out trackschool driving, but in reality the Flex has almost too much adjustability for the usual street use.

keep your eyes peeled, there is always someone with a good deal out there.
I'd be leary of buying used coilovers too, be sure theyre USA marketed products and be sure the seller hasnt abused them, otherwise its not worth your time and money, blown coilovers for cheap isnt a bargain.
