I've got some GT-Cs, and I want to go wider, but keep the same center. Has anyone swapped barrels between wheels before?

I do know this will affect offset, but I'm not worried about that. I'm guessing I would add 12mm to the offset thats on the wheels now. Depending upon where the center section mounting bolts were.
