Question Suspension upgrade?

I have found a supension upgrade package for my second gen. Its from Racing beat and it includes the springs new sway bars and all the bushings and needed accesories. the shocks are the only thing not included. Is this a good deal? It covers both front and back by the way. Also how much would some good shocks cost?

'86 TII '91 rebuilt engine fully ported and polished rebuilt turbo with ported wastegate.

Shocks, springs, and bushings are the most important thing. Sway bars are nice, but not necessary. Definately get new shocks and springs. Bushings are a big help, but a LOT of work to change out. Figure out what you're going to be using the car for, and plan accordingly. If you think you'll be autocrossing or road course driving, then get some sort of adjustable setup - with either Illuminas or Koni adjustables and coil-overs. Otherwise, the Tokico blues with something like Racing Beat springs will work fine.

Hello Rotors,

Have you purchased the suspension yet? Racing Beat uses the Illuminas on their demo vehicle, I have been told by Madatrix and a few others that the Koni's are too stiff, I however will use them because of the coilover setup I will do. The Koni has a removable lower spring perch, which is unneccesary for the coilovers and therefore will not need to modify the strut = voided warranty.

I have for the past six years, been using the RB spring and illumina setup with everything you can buy from the Beat. It is an awesome package if you have not driven a modified suspension FC. In time you will want more, but you gotta learn to crawl before you can run, right.

In any case, I just returned from RB, made a trip down there to meet my rep and the owner Jim M. If you want a good deal on this stuff let me know, I'll price out the illuminas for you too.

I need to know the model of the car GXL, SE, as well as the rim and tire size you are using. AS well as your zipcode.

You are looking at the

RB springs
lowering spring perch front (optional)
F/R sway bars
Rear toe elimator bushing
Tokiko illuminas or KYB AGX, illuminas are 5 -way f/r, the AGX is 4 front and 8 rear, similar to the GAB adjustability

Tell me if I forgot anything. I'm leaving for New York tommorrow, trying to get in my two weeks of vacation for the year, much harder when you run your own business. We are authorized RB distributors, with several RB demo vehicles, including a JR/RB hybrid Supercharged miata, T2 FC all RB and SSR, Protege5 in developmental stages, 2 more N/A FC RX-7's with full RB setups. We are fully qualified to tell you what's up with the RB stuff.

If interested leave a response here with your info. and I will call or e-mail you. Oh yeah, where did you get your pricing for this stuff?

Thanks, Rishie
