FC3S Suspension Review. Apexi T-maxx, ST springs, Racing beat sway bar. FC3S

I just finished installation of some Apexi T-maxx adjustables with ST springs and a rear Racing Beat sway bar.

I have the front and rear set at 3 clicks. The Apexi shocks have 6 clicks of adjustment. The ride is firm but not punishing at this setting. Take into consideration that I am running R compound race tire.

I only installed the rear anti-roll bar since I do drift and the drift events here in minnesota are tight low speed drifts. I installed the Racing Beat sway bar with end links from Mazdatrix. Mazdatrix has good products but they are rude on the phone. I've ordered from them four times. Four times they were rude. I guess they can since I tried to use a different shop after the first time they were rude but no one else had the parts I needed.

I bought the Apexi shocks, springs, and sway bars second hand. I actually swapped for the sway bars. I bought some used ST sway bars but they were for a series 5 and I have a Series 4.

I traded blnk my ST anti roll bars for his racing beat bars and they fit like a charm.

The left shock and spring were a pita as it welded itself to the suspension arm. That just took some "***** truckers! some F-N-Himers and a BFH.

The racing beat anti roll bars are way smaller that the ST anti roll bars. Oh well they fit so that works for me.

So the car has Apexi T-maxx, St springs, and racing beat sway bars. Hopefully this will make for less bouncy more controllable drifts.

Before.

After.

Sway bars Stock on top. Racing beat on the bottom.

Stock versus Apexi T-maxx/ST combo.

So the car now has Apexi T-maxx dampers, St springs, and racing beat sway bars.

The ride quality is great. I will adjust the setting to soften the ride some more since I'm mostly driving in wet cold conditions hear in Minnesota. The car handles great now. I was really erratic with the stock shocks and I mean stock. They were factory original 1987 shocks.

I haven't pushed the car since I try to save that for the track. I did mess around in the parking lot at my work. It's a large private lot with security guards. The car is way easy to drift now. I can't wait to get this thing on the track.

My poly bushings came in last week so I'll have those on soon.

Apexi T-maxx, ST springs, Racing beat swaybar=

Llew.
