Hey there every one. I am currently in Iraq and searching very hard for an FD. When I get one, I wantto obvioiusly upgrade because thats what people do. I am wondering what you guys (and girls) think is a great setup for traveling the German Autobahn at ludicrous speeds. I am also planning to upgrade brakes, normal engine mods (no super turbos yet) and everything to make her a super handler. High speeds are good but I want to be able to handle it and stop quick as well before I get to that point. I have no problem spending all the money I save on her. Thanks alot guys (and girls)

Currently drive a 5 ton

 

I run blasts to 170mph on a local deserted highway and the car feels very stable with coilovers to lower the car at 25" height to top of wheelwells. No brake upgrades yet as I will do so when I change to 17" wheels. Good luck & stay safe over there.

 

the autobahn is nice, but it has gotten more trafficked now so don't get your hopes up on ludicrous speeds. the cool thing about the autobahn road surface is how sticky it is in the rain - no puddling and very few worries about hydroplaning. I don't know how they do it, but I wish they'd do it here. the highways in spain and portugal are less trafficked. I've done many 240+kph runs on those

good tires, good shocks, good alignment, good brake pads with recent brake fluid flush/bleed is all you need. a downpipe would be good also as well as plugs, oil, tranny oil and recent coolant.

the fd was made for that kinda stuff so you really don't need to do anything other than make sure everything is working up to snuff.

If you do make it to germany, try getting into the Nurburgring (race track). I understand that they allow drivers to take their cars out under certain conditions.
