I do not have an impact, only basic hand tools, socket set, pliers, ect. I cannot get these strut cups off, does anyone have any suggestions for keeping the strut immoble while i remove the nut?

 

Usually the end of the strut rod has a flat on it so that you can hold it with a wrench and prevent it from turning. You put one wrench on the spring mount and one on the shaft to prevent it from turning; they normally are not that tight.

If you aren't compressing the spring first that may be your problem; sometimes they bind.
