sticky tires that dont need heat cycling...?

looking for a set of tires that are sticky but without having to heat them up ( doing a burn out ). if there is even a tire like this. i ask this because me and most other rx7s get bad wheel hop. i dont want to leave my rear end on the ground at the track. i am looking into the new hoosier dot drag radials, but its not worth it if they are going to serve me no traction when cold. any imput appreciated.

Any of these true competition tires will have more traction than a street tire even when cold, but their grip improves once they are heated. That said nobody has any business running these types of competition tires on the street. They'll wear out very quickly and be downright unsafe in many cases.

The NITTO 555R Drag Radials are semi-sticky without a burnout. I also run these on the street
with great results. I have been in everything from heavy rain to light snow (not by choice).

What exactly are you looking for? A replacement street tire for your 18's or a dot drag tire for stock wheels?

You will always get wheelhop with the 18's regardless of tire because there is no sidewall to absorb the shock when launching. For the strip I use the 255/50/16 mickey thompson drag radials mounted on stock wheels. They really don't require much heat to stick, I simply do a 2nd gear clutch drop in the water and they're good to go(no braking). I have yet to experience any bad wheelhop with these and 16-18psi.

im looking for a dot drag tire for the stock wheels. i was thinking about the new hoosier dot drags they have. i just want something that sticks good without any burn out. i am afraid of wheel hop and leaving my rear end on the ground.
