SSR Comps Or Volk LE37T

Hey guys,

Quick question, if you had a choice would you rather get the SSR COmps or Volk Racing LE37Ts and why? They look similar and the weight's are comparible. I heard some stories about the sturdyness or the SSR Comps but none about the LE37Ts. I am leaning towards the LE37T's but is there any reason to choose the Comps over the LE37's? Thanks for your suggestions and opinions in advance.

I'm guessing the price difference between the 2 for 18" are about $300 total. How much can you get 18" SSR Comps for Skate?

My car color is Montego Blue (but I'm painting it when i get moooo money IBM or something near that). The LE37T's only come in Gunmetal with a Polished Lip. It should look pretty tite, unless there are other rims that look better.

The LE37T's look really nice on this bad *** rx7.

ssrs on red fd

But for 2k thats a good price. The ssr's comps are going to be $1600. I got a sweet deal and got tires and all for $1900!! I have 2 comps in storage. They were wrecked and told they were bent. But I did not have the heart to through away. But if someone thinks they are fixable let me know.

Anway thought I would post a pic but its on my red fd.

Skate--she looks SWEET

My opinion is that the SSR Comps were meant to be racing wheels, but Tire Rack has marketed the Comps as road wheels.

The Volk LE37Ts ARE road wheels, so I presume they'll hold up better under road conditions than the Comps.

That's not to say that the Comps won't either...as I have read no complaints from other FD owners with bent Comps on the road...

My Comps are open-track only, so I can't comment about my Comps' road performance.

Yet, based on your deal, it's almost a no-brainer that you go with the Volks (IF the ones you're buying are TRULY NEW OUT OF A BOX). Of course I'm presuming that the Volks you're buying from your buddy have been purchased legitimately from a dealer, and are NOT stolen goods

Volk Racing Wheel Pricing

[DK]Rx7,

Pricing like that can only come from a friendly one-time deal. I highly doubt that your friend, even if s/he is a Volk dealer could keep that kind of discounted pricing up for long, as s/he'll **** off the other legitimate Volk Racing Wheel dealers who offering service as well as product.

To keep things fair on this forum, I'm going to ask that you all refrain from posting prices of Volk Racing Wheels on the forum. You may PM each other, but you should NOT post the prices publicly.

This gives legitimate wheel vendors a fair chance. Please note that legitmate wheel vendors offer service and knowledge along with the product.

What good is the product, if you are not being offered accurate advice on fitment!!!???

I like the Volks, based on looks

Does anyone have a weight comparison for sizes?

I would think they are pretty similar, both are EXTREMELY light. Either way , you cant go wrong

My only problem with MY particular Volks (SE37A bronze) is that they don't react well to brake dust and water. I'm now at the point where I have to purchase a $5 bottle of wheel cleaner every week to keep them looking just "ok". There's no coating on them whatsoever. The LE's do look like they're coated somehow and I have no clue on the SSR's. If I had to do it all over again, I'd have the Volks clearcoated before mounting them on the car. At 16lbs. a piece for a 18x9.5" rim, you just can't beat em!

Michel,

The SSR Comps are clearcoated, which make them really easy to clean. The fact that they're solid spokes and not intricately designed like the SE37A, goes a long way in saving elbow grease, when the time comes to clean your wheels!
