Question Spring r/r on Koni shocks

Thanks to some great advise/experience from the forum I've decided on getting some Koni sports for my FD. Now for installation; it seems straight forward enough and I have a shop manual I've got questions about the spring compresision: have you guys purchased the special tool for spring compression from Mazda or cobbled up something to use? Any advise, as always, is greatly appreciated. (I have to stick to stock springs for Solo 2). Would it be easier to take it to a shop and have them do it?

if there is an autozone close then you can borrow a spring tool from them for free.
