Spirit R Wheels Weight

I weighed my wheels on the postal scale today.

fronts weight 19.0 lbs; rears weight 19.6 lbs.

These weights included center caps, valve stems, and some taped on weights. A little more than advertized on BBS site (must be the xtra material
for 50mm offset)

Really? When I weighed mine I though it had around 17.5-18.5 lbs.

What size and offset are Spirit R wheels? The BBS wheels are also monoblock right?

17 x 8 front and 17 x 8.5 rear all 50mm offset. Yes they are forged mono blocks, RG-R style.

I remember visiting my bud Danno McVicker/Scrub on the way down to drop off my 18x10 Fikse Profil 5s to Allrotor93 (who bought them for his 20b monster) at Malloy Mazda.

I held a 17x8.5 spirit R in one hand and an 18x10 Fikse in the other and they felt like they weighed almost the same.....I was surprised to say the least.

The 18x10 Profil 5 weighed in at ~19.5 pounds, Dan said he weighed the Spirit R wheel at ~18.5 pounds, so pretty damn similar. Really impressed me, I never considered the Fikses all that light weight.

I will say the Spirit R in that black chrome finish are stunning, if the damn things were wider I would probably be running them right now

I was just surprised to hear 20+ lbs because our Type C in 17 x 8.0 +48 and 17 x 8.5 + 49 are 15.7 and 16 lbs respectively.

I always had this crazy feeling the Spirit Rs were lighter than that. 17~ sounds more right.

Weight was a little disappointing as I had heard they were maybe lighter than aftermarket RG-R line which range from 17.0 to 18.3 in 8 and 8.5 widths and 17.2 to 17.9 in 9 to 9.5 widths (yes wider is lighter).

But I purchased these to have for collection sake; some show/street duty and maybe track rain wheels. My current track wheels are Enkei RPF1 17" dia 9 x 9 and 9 x 9.5 weighting in at 15.9 on 9's and 16.5 on 9.5's
