they could if you run 215's and 235's (or some kind of nice stretch). and roll the fenders. and then it should look really nice.
but if you want to run those hoosiers, I don't think there's any way they will fit without overfenders.
17x9+14 front with 215/40, 18x9.5 rear +18 or so (about as far out as the 17x10 +25)
just to give you an idea of almost exactly how they will fit.

They clear everything inside no problem.
It's a matter if they will clear the fender lip, since we don't know what size tires you're looking to run.
Anything wider than 245 is not going to fit up front.

It's going to be tight, but it should be okay.
Be prepared to roll the fender lips a little.
You going hippari stretch huh?
Those tires are rather narrow for those wheel widths...

with 235/255's, they should barely fit as long as you roll the fenders a lot and run some camber. I had another set of those same wheels on the front of mine, but with 235/40's, and there was about 1mm of clearance... thats only with -1.5 degrees of camber, so with a little more than that it should fit...
and btw, 235 on a 9, and 255 on a 10 is within the tire manufacturers recommended wheel widths. and it 'hardly' even looks stretched. I really wouldn't call it a stretch at all.

10.0" wide can easily accomodate a 265...hell 275 too.
IMNSHO, if you're not going to take advantage of the wheel width, then why add weight?
For those tire sizes, running a 8.0" front and 9.0" rear just makes the fitment easier...and lighter.
Sorry, not into fads - I'd take performance any day over fads.

I'm into my car looking good as well... and I wouldn't know what to do with more grip. but thats cool, I don't expect everyone to like it. just saying that 235 on a 9 is not a stretch, IMHO... not that you can't run bigger, because you def can.
