Slicks

I'm having problems with traction on my FD. At only 12 psi I'm spinning the tires and going sideways. This is in 2nd and 3rd gear with 275/30/19 Nitto nt555s with about 90% thread life. I'm gonna try and soften up my Teins and see if that helps, possibly drop psi on the tires as well. Whats a good street/strip setup? Thanks....!! Tony

1. You are running 19s. Bad for traction. Ditch the 19s so you can get some sidewall back.

2. You aren't running the grippiest tires.

3. What Teins are you running? Stiff rear springs = bad for traction.

4. With a lot of power, you will be losing traction in 2nd gear unless you are running warmed up R-compounds.

There is a current thread started by "matty" discussing R-compound tires.

I'm running Tein RAs set at 16 which is the medium. Yeah I know about running 19" setup but I love the way they look on my FD. I might just have to get a set of drag radials with stock wheels for track only once I'm tuned. Thanks for your help rynberg.

RAs??? There's a lot of your problem. 895 lb-in springs!!! It's lucky you have any traction at all combined with those 19s.
