Which shocks
So i'm currently looking for new shocks and springs for my 89 GXL running stock 15" rims. I'm not looking for a ridiculous drop, i'm just tired of my car sitting like a monster truck. I've been leaning towards Racing Beat springs.
Shocks are what i'm having a hard time deciding on. I daily drive my car, but I plan to AutoX my car this summer while still keeping it my DD. I've decided I will save up another 2 week paycheck and buy adjustable shocks over non-adjustable Tokico Blues *$381*. The shocks i've been looking into are; KYB AGX *$520*, Koni Yellows *$602*, and Tokico Illuminas *$614*. So does anyone have any say on those three shocks? I'm leaning towards KYB AGX with Racing Beat springs. Is anyone running that setup? If so do you have any pictures of the drop and what does the ride feel like?

Where are you getting those prices????? They're ridiculously high. I got my Koni Yellows for 550 locally. You can get AGX's on ebay for 350 shipped.
I guess it just depends on how serious you are into racing, but AGX's will do the job. If I did not get the Yellows the AGX would have been the next choice for me.

I got those prices from both corksport.com and rx7.com. I've heard great reviews for both Koni Yellow and KYB AGX. What made you choose the Yellows over the AGX? Don't the AGX have 8 way adjustability in the rear and 4 in the front while Konis have 3, or was I missinformed?

The reason I got the Konis was because of reputation amongst SCCA racers. Another was later adjustability such as revalving and the capability to enhance the shock for seperate compression and rebound settings, if I ever get that deep into racing.
The AGX will do the job just fine. Although I haven't seen any shock dynos between the two, but I wouldn't doubt the yellows having a bit better valving. But main thing I bought it for was that it beat a lot of the JDM brands on the shock dynos and the future adjustability of them.
If you speak with Lee Grimes, who is a member on Honda-tech, he has shock dynos of Teins, JIC's, you name it, and he is non-biased even though he works for Koni. He is always up for people sending them their suspensions for a shock dyno.
Lee also goes by CRXLee on Honda-tech. There is also another suspension who guy who does free shock dynos by the name of vtecvoodoo on Honda-tech, I know he is somewhat affiliated with Eibach but he is always up for shock dynoing.

Are these the eBay AGXs you guys are talking about? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-A...ayphotohosting
Why are these $200 cheaper than CorkSport and MazdaTrix prices? Are they nock offs or used? I know they say new but i've always been weary about buying car parts off eBay. But you can't beat that price.

Yep those are good, the lister is damn good too, he has over 15k positive feedback at 99.4 percent. I would trust that. Nothing wrong with buying from ebay, you just need to know what to look for as far as shady deals.
