Sebring (Volk Racing) ITC-SD

Here is a link to the Sebring (Volk Racing) ITC-SD wheel.

This is a 2 piece wheel. The way this wheel is made, from what I understand, is the center piece is pressed in to place, and then there is a bead welded all the way around the back side. I saw it in person this past Sunday at the Sema Import show here in Los Angeles and it's a very light wheel, but (to me) that weld doesn't look too beefy.

Anyhow, the reason for this post: with my car running around 475hp, 400 at the wheels, and also running it pretty hard around corners, this wheel scares me. It seems like there is a pretty good chance of breaking the weld under high stress cornering.

Rishie & others, what is your opinion? Ever heard of this style of wheel breaking apart? I feel a lot more confident with my current bolt-together 3 piece wheels; they seem alot stronger.

Did the pics of the ITC-SDs change, or am I imagining things...?

Yeah, they definitely changed the pics. I was wondering the same thing at first. Here is the original pic that I saved. It looks like they just changed the center caps and now there is red in it. I think just that minor change makes them look a lot better. Here are the original and the updated version:
