Sagging suspension... What needs to be replaced?

88 Rx-7 TII

I went to have my wheels aligned at Sears and they said that they couldnt get my wheels balanced to a 1.2 degree and that the best they could do is get it to a 1.7

I told my mechanic this and he said that its cuz my suspension is sagging... He recommended I get a camber bar to lift and support it...

Now, in my head I figure that since a camber bar doesnt offer any performance to the car and all it does is hold up a weaker spring to last longer, whats the point?

Thing is, I dont know if its only the spring thats causing this sagging...

-What needs to be replaced for my suspension to not sag anymore? Can I do it with just a springs/shocks package?

-Do I need to find out anything specific about what is sagging? Could it not just be 1 part in the suspension?

-Should I get a camber bar just for when this might happen again in the future? If I get a camber bar installed, will I have room for strut bars etc etc?

how many miles on the springs? stock springs? if you have a lot of mileage on the springs than your springs most likely are sagging. usually a new spring and strut assembly is the best way to go while your replacing old springs.

Ive got about a good 180k on stock springs... Whether or not theyre stock is another thing... It turns very sharply which makes me think at some time they may have been tweaked or upgraded, but my mechanic once glanced at them and said that they looked very black and probably stock if not as old as the stock would have been, give or take a year or two...

Can anyone answer my questions though? I was told Racing Beat was the way to go with all pieces except for the coilovers and camber plates in which I should get K2RD... Anyone disagree or agree??

sounds like your springs are sagging. i have to say that the RB springs feel really nice on the fd so id imagine they would be just as good ona fc. follow those up with some tokico struts and you'd be good. or just get a complete coilover kit like the teins.

I just put Eibach ProKit springs on my S5. I chose them over the Racing Beat springs because of the variable rate. This makes them nicer on the street, but still plenty stiff when you push it. RB springs are very good, and worth the money.

Once you get the new springs in, go to a good alignment place, one that will work with you rather than tell you their computer says you need new springs. (Sorry, Midas).

Camber is an issue with the rear suspension, but unless you have camber plates on the front towers, there isn't much adjustment up front. Chances are that your sagging stock springs are messing with the camber anyway, so new springs will address some of that.
