Yes they are. Should be a direct bolt-up fit. Two problems.
Too narrow at only 8 wides (stock FD is 8 wide)
Too tall a tire with 225/45-18, 26 inches overall diameter
If you mount Rx8 wheels you'll need to use 225/40-18 tires. This is very low profile for the width, with only 3.5 inches of sidewall vs 4 inch sidewall for the 225/45-18.
I like the Rx8 wheels too. Too bad they don't come 9 or 9.5 wide

IMO, while the RX-8 wheels look good on the RX-8, they don't fit the styling of the FD. They have, what I call, "millenium" styling, which fits the high tech, futuristic look of the RX-8. The FD has more organic, classic lines and should run wheels that match those design goals, IMO.
Also, as Manny pointed out, they're too damn skinny. I am now running 18x8.5 up front, and even though they're wider than the stockers, they don't really LOOK wider than the stockers. Traction will not be improved either.
