Rotor replacement kit

Can anyone reccomend a good one? Im leaning towards Pettit racings kit right now. Seems to be the best kit. Comes with slotted rotors, pads, braided brake lines, and brake fluid. If anyone has this kit, or one they have experience with please share.

Suprised noone has chimed in. Maybe someone will have an answer to this for me. Whats better for a street/light road race use. Drilled or slotted rotors or both?

slotted rotors off ebay if you dont go to the track you can buy them dirt cheap and replace them a few times if you need to.

If you are going to track the car, don't used drilled rotors. Slotted are fine, but not really necessary.

Like they said, get blank rotors if you do any kind of hard driving. In my personal experience, nothing beats OEM rotors. Every other rotor I've tried on every car I've owned has not lasted as long as OEM's.

Brembo's own advertising says their slotted and/or drilled rotors are NOT intended for track use.

ATE SuperBlue or Motul 600 is the best fluid and comes in different colors so you can be certain you've flushed it all out when you do fluid changes.

I will ONLY use Hawk or CarboTech brake pads. Sure others are good like Ferrodo and other big names. Those two seem to be most common at the race track and I have had good experiences with them. If you want OEM like feel and braking ability... you guessed it, I say get factory pads. They are specifically designed to get short braking distances, not overheat during expected use of the car, and to put out an acceptable amount of brake dust. I've used ceramic pads twice and will never ever EVER use them again. They simply don't work well.

I'm not familiar with SS brake lines for the 7 so I can't help on that. Goodridge seems to have a good reputation though.

^I am more or less daily driving the car, maybe once every month or every other mont depending on spare time (new born in June) going to the track for a hour or two of driving. I really think the best deal so far has been from pettit racing, I just wish I knew what kind of rotors they use. They didnt reply to my email yet.

Don't worry so much about "brand". Most likely Pettit is getting them from a generic brake components maker/supplier like Coleman and putting their name on them. They are slotted and that's all you really need to know.

Decided to go with Racing brake, unfortunately for me they seem to be discontinuing their line of RX7 OEM upgrade parts due to a lack of sales and interest. So back to the drawling board for my slotted rotors. I want to stay away from the ebay rotors, I dont want some no-name brand of rotors that have no history of being any good. If someone has been using them with luck for a while id like to know specifics on which ones.

Just get the Pettit kit, you'll be fine. However, their Stage III kit comes with Hawk Blues for pads. Those are a decent road racing pad, but not so great for the street. I would recommend getting the Stage II kit since your car will be mainly street driven and then getting a set of front pads to switch on just for track events.
