Barring any late offers that don't want to lowball me. It's just a bad time to be selling a car. I wanted to get into another car .... believe me, after driving Beth and Erik's '04 Z06, I've been beating myself silly trying to figure out a way to get into one .... but finances will probably not permit it.

Probably just continue to see if SM2 provides a place for RX-7's to shine again.

Ok, got the model of the Hoosiers that my friend's roomie will sell me, and I"m gonng probably pick them up, pending me taking a look at them to make sure they're not all crunchy from heatcycling. They are Hoosier R3S03's, size 225/50-16, and they're used, but apparently have >= 1 event left in them. I've been offered them at $100 for the set of 4, which I'm thinking is a pretty bitchin deal. Thoughts on the price?

What does he mean > 1 event left on them? Even if there were only 5 events left on them, I'd have trouble forking over $100. F**k that! Your friend's roomie should just give them to you. You pay the fee to un-mount them and that's it. It's ~$800 for a brand new set! That's easily 50-60 runs ... depending on how hard YOU are on tires. You do the math. And, the grip quality goes down exponentially .... so tires with ~1 event left are practically worthless.

Yeah, I agree, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for the set

ok, these are road race tires, guys, not drag tires. There's NO way that you could get 50-60 "runs" (which sounds like a drag term to me) out of these tires if by a run you mean an event.

I'm still debating these, but if they're in good enough shape to get 1 full day event out of them, I'll probably go for it.

In autocross we use the term "run" for each attack of the course. 50-60 runs would be 50-60 laps.

Yup. 1 event is like 3-4 runs/laps. How does that sound now ... $100 for 3-4 runs/laps? Doesn't sound too reasonable now, does it?

Guys, he is talking about a road racing track day "event", not an autox. As in 5 sessions of 20-25 minutes. Still a lot of money, considering you have to pay for mounting them....

Right, this is for a road race track, not autox. The $100 is starting to sound a bit steep, so i'll have to contemplate it a bit more and also see about mounting costs...what's that run, about $10/wheel?
