you could go with somthing from HRE...
but i doubt that they are MUCH cheeper. Look under "Car Wheels" and go to 540...

God, that didn't help much. HRE's are more expensive than the Kinesis.
I'll look into my black book and see if I can come up with something. You want a thick 5 spoke that's under $2000.00 I assume. Are you intending to get a multipiece wheel or it doesn't matter?
How about Volk GT-C? They are a wide two piece 5 spoke.
I can get those for you around $3000.00 in 18,8.5 and 10.0 for the Kinesis. Is that still too far out?
