Question Rim store said this will work! I need to make sure....

I will be running 18x9 front and 18x10 rear, with a offset of +40mm for the front and +65mm for the rear. This on 255/35/18 front and 285/30/18 rear tires. Who has seen this or has it?
Constructive critisisim please.....

That is too much offset for the rear. Something around +50mm would be better. The fronts might work okay, but whether you rub or not will depend on alignment, ride height, spring stiffness, sway bar stiffness, driving habits, driving environment, etc.

Stock FD wheel offset is +50. The +65 for the rears is way too high. That would be for a car like an NSX. The +40 for the 18x9 fronts is doable but too low IMO. See if they have the same size in a +45.

If this rim store insists they are right, go elsewhere.

That's funny, because a higher offset will result in a SMALLER lip. I strongly suggest you go with another vendor, the guy you are talking to obviously knows nothing about FD fitments.

What wheels are you looking for? I'm sure we could suggest an alternative vendor or at least give you the size/offsets to look for.

you're definately good in the front. the total diameter is exactly the same as a 255/40/17

For maximum lipage and decent fit w/ 285 tires, your rear offset ought to be more like +50 to +45 on a 10" wide wheel.
