I know you all probably hate answering these by now, but searching revealed nothing, and so I figured I'd ask. I am looking to stagger the rims, as most on here do, and I am extremely curious about the offset for each. The sizes of the rims would be 18x8 and 18x9.5. Now the rims are available in either a 20 or 40 offset for the 8's and a 20 or 35 for the 9.5's. The link for the Thruxtons is here if this helps you out any. I was thinking about staggering the 19 and 20 front and rear, but I am not sure if any of them will fit. What do you think? Thanks for the help.

 

Searching found nothing? There's probably 100-200 threads regarding wheel fitment on the FD, not counting the major threads in the suspension archives.

18x8 +40 will work, 18x9.5 +35 will most likely require rolling the rear fenders. PLease don't put cheap, heavy-*** wheels on your FD. There are many wheels that would fit better than those that are still reasonably priced, especially if you look at the used market.

I am sure that there are a few hundred threads on it, but I wasn't able to locate the one I wanted, and I wasn't about to sit here searching for hours on end for the right one. Also, wheel selection is a matter of what the person wants from a wheel. I haven't found a rim that I like, looks wise, than the one I mentioned. I don't race in any form so weight isn't a concern. Thanks for the info, next time, I'll just figure the **** out my self.

 

There are many wheels with similar looks that are much higher quality and lighter than those. Heavy wheels reduce handling, braking, acceleration, and ride quality. Even if you're not "racing", I would think these things would matter to an FD owner.....

Seriously though, read the wheel tech section at www.tirerack.com. Then read the wheel fitment thread in the archives. You'll then know a lot more about wheels and how they fit on the FD. Then you'll know what offset/size options will work.
