rim fitting

There are so many contradictory posts on this topic that I thought I'd just ask.

The rims I'm interested in only seem to come in +40mm offsets. I have the following options:

17x7
17x7.5
18x8.

I'm going to be running Tein coilovers. Which of these will fit? And what tire width would you recommend?

Thanks in advance,
Nima

the 17x7s would be the only one Id be comfortable using with a 40mm offset. If you go with the 7.5" width, they will be 7mm closer to the sping. Whether or not it will rub with those coil-overs, I cant say for sure, but I bet it will be damn close, expecially with any wider of a tire than a 225.
