Thumbs up Right size of tire for these wheels.

I just purchased some Volk CE28N. Front are 17X8.5 +40, rear are 17X10 +45.

I was wondering about the correct size for those wheels. No, I don't want to stretch the tires, LOL, and if I have to "roll" the fenders, I will. Thanks

Yup... you could even squeeze a 255/40 up front (it will match the rear diameter better too), Mazda used that size on the 8.5" '96+ wheels

255 + 275 = bliss.

you could even run 255 at all four corners if your car is not modded and you want it to handle very neutrally.
