Ride Height Uneven Problems

I have an FD with Koni Yellows and stock springs. I have NOT removed the struts yet and am planning on installing tein s-techs. I noticed when looking at the car, that it is perfectly level but the front end is definately lower than stock fds...

So...i looked behind the wheels and noticed that the driver side strut perch is lowered a notch...but on the other side it is on the TOP notch!! however the car sits evenly

This means that something is causing the passenger side to drop even though it is on the upper most setting

- I called the original owner and he told me there was some kind of rubber piece at the top of the spring that was worn down causing the spring to go up higher causing it to drop....with my s-techs, the car will be WAY to low with an extra .5 inches from the Koni perches!!!!

I havent seen it yet but is this probably the part Ill neeed to replace...how much do these cost?

check to see that both spring perches are facing the the same way. some people screw up and invert them.

i will check but I do believe it is that rubber piece above

I recall reading an article on clubRX.org about the spring install and how dale clark had to replace the rubber piece....is this common?

the shock mounts wear, dry rot, and the spring sinks into them as they do. i replaced all 4 of mine when i installed my eibachs. doing so improved my ride quality.

front and rear are different. call ray@malloy, i paid 222.00 for all 4. i also replaced the spring perch rubber which were 54.00 for all 4.

if your gonna do it do it right

Will that make it vary to perhaps a finger or two's width? I noticed my Drivers side sits a finger or two lower than the passnger side...when I was putting on the driver's side I must have grabbed the old shock mount from the passenger side (I followed the groove in the rubber) and then I realized after I uncompressed everthing that I had it backwards. So being lazy I just put it on backwards hoping it wouldn't hurt anything (and I had to return the compressor bracker things). Then it took me a while to figure out how to get the shocks to match (adjustable Illuminas) and now it's way more stable, but the ride is off. I thought it might have just been worn out driver's side springs (a friends '69 Camaro had significant driver's side sag). I went ahead and bought 4 more Illuminas and Eibachs to try and remedy this and was hoping that this would probaby cure the slight lift on the passenger side. I didn't really plan to drive my car that much, but still wanted to test it out to see if the ride got any better. It was indefinately better. I'm going to be extra cautious to do it right before I take it in to get an alignment so just thought I'd look into it. I was ready to look for a frame specialist. When I pulled off my stock wheels and tires I notice they wouldn't even roll straight they wobbled so bad that they would fall over if I wasn't there to catch them. And this is only a slow roll and it's not like one part of the tire but a continuous wobble. (probably doesn't help that one tire was installed backwards and I haven't had a chance to get them realigned. Would installing the shocks on "backwards" have any ill effect in the suspension if it was done on both sides? It seems like an extra inch of drop right there. Thanks.
