Ride Height loggable sensor

i need to be able to log my nose lift at the Texas Mile this October. i am looking for a sensor (0-5 V).

i have looked a bit a few months ago and didn't come up w anything.

any ideas?

Perhaps a magnetic ride control sensor off of a GM product? These are on 09+ CTS V, ZL1 Camaros, and anything else with the magnetic ride control. I don't know what voltage they output but they monitor suspension compression and rebound. Probably a safe bet that is it 0-5 volts.

Are you actually wanting to measure distance from the road or just an accurate suspension movement way? From the road you'll probably have to use a displacement laser. For just suspension travel a potentiometer, string or linear, would be very easy. Hell you could use a spare throttle body with a tps on it and just attach the cable to the suspension arm, just make sure you adjust pulley sizes to account for full suspension travel.

Omega should be able to get you anything you need.

farnorthracing used a suspension travel sensor for his car, probably not exactly what you're looking for, but still useful and wheel lift can then be calculated based on it:



He doesn't mention where the sensor came from though:
