Review of Pettit alignment settings

I had my car aligned to the Pettit "Long Track" settings after getting a new suspension (Koni Yellows/HKS Springs, look here for review https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=220092 )

I am quite happy with the results. The car turns in sharply but does not feel darty. The car still feels quite stable under braking. So far, I think this is a really good setting for a daily driven car that sees occasional track duty. I will have to monitor tire wear for the long term effects.

Here's the finished settings for those that are interested:

Front:
Left Right
Camber: -1.5 -1.5
Caster: 7.2 7.2
Toe: 0.03 0.03
Set Back: 0.16 0.16
SAI: 12.0 13.8
Included: 10.4 12.3

Rear:
Left Right
Camber: -1.4 -1.3
Toe: 0.00 0.01
Thrust Angle: -0.01

I had my alignment done at C2 Automotive in Oakland. They did it in a little less than an hour, and let me sit in the car (of course). I certainly recommend their shop.

BTW, I did the alignment with a nearly full tank of gas -- as for racing conditions.

Looks like they did a great job for you, and fast too.

I took my FD to a local Mazda dealership, tried to get to the Pettit street spec. but after 2 hours they got close but not real close. I've got to find a local performance shop that can do the kind of job you got.

Maybe we can post all the Pettit specs. and this can be turned into a sticky. People are always asking for them.

The Pettit specs can be found here:

As you can see, C2 was able to get very close to the long track specs except for the front toe which they prefer to set to zero, so we compromised.

cpa7man: You should call a GOOD performance shop in your area and ask who they recommend. Also, the regional forums are great -- that's how I found out about C2's alignment services...

Would those specs also change depending on your tire width?
