Removing spacer

I have 17X7 inch wheels with 215/45R17 wheels. Will removing the spacer cause problems with rubbing the struts?

Might need some more info. 86' GX, lowered. The wheels are a 40mm offset. On this site http://fc3spro.com/TECH/MODS/RT/rims.htm they have a recommended offset of 35mm for a 7 inch rim. Now would removing my spacer decrease my offset?

It does not "decrease" your offset.
It decreases your "backspacing".
Removing the spacer effective "increases" your offset - not decrease it.
