Red stuf vs. Green stuff
Porterfield R4Es are roadworthy race pads. $208 fr/rr set. Use the factory pad shims (fr/rr) to keep the noise level down. Dusting has been minimal considering the R4E's true purpose is for endurance racing. The R4E's cold braking power is unbelievable for a race pad (or street pad for that matter). They need to be bedded though, so follow the instructions. R4E wear your rotors evenly, and the rotor faces end up polished smooth--not grooved like what Hawks do to your rotors.
Node,
Don't get the R4Es UNLESS you're an EXPERIENCED TRACK DRIVER. The R4Es are full-race pads that are roadworthy...similar to the Performance Friction PF-90, Carbotech Panther XPs.
IMO, if you don't ever plan to autocross or track drive, I'd stick with the EBC Green Stuffs (or Hawk HPS or HP Plus).
The R4Es work for me, as I do track events every 3-4 weeks, in addition to autocrosses, and spirited drives down southern Indiana SR135.
Normal compromise pads (EBC Green Stuffs, Hawk HP Plus) will not hold up for my use!

I've had the R4Es on the road for a week now. They dust, about as much as the Hawk HP Plusses did.
Cold braking is amazing conidering the R4E is a race pad that doesn't begin to come into its own until 650 F! From my track experience, once the R4Es get warm, they bite the rotors hard, with very little pedal effort. I have to adjust my braking style to keep from flat-spotting my Hoosiers (yes I have ABS on my FD!).
