The pic is real small but I think one is the cast version and one is the forged version. The F looks more edged and is available in several more offsets.

The pics are both from the rays site under the forged version, but maybe it is just difference in offset.

thanks

Yeah then it is the offset. The spokes tha curve more inward have the lower offset.

NO For some reason the **** fell threw and I been waiting for 112 days (damn near 4 months). I GIVE UP. I'm guessing my order never got filled or the supplier dropped the freaken ball. Anyways, if I can't find a supplier for same price that I DONT have to wait anylonger I still want them. If not 5Zigen has some tasty ADVAN looking wheels called N1 Black Sports. Their 6 spokes and come in 8 and 9 inch widths with the proper offsets I want, not to mention there REALLY inexpensive and fairly light weight (20 for 8"). If you have the latest Sport Compact Magazine the wheels they put on the 2003 350Z is what I might get if I can't get some damned Gram lights.

Racerextreme,

The front wheel fitment will be arriving in September. I've been waiting just as long as you have. Ray's needed to fulfill a minimum order before shipping out to Mackin. It was all in build time for the wheels.

Let me know if you're interested still so I can continue the order or cancel it.

thanks, Rishie

Order was sent in a long long time ago. I'm very sorry. Out of my hands at this point.

Exclamation Wow, those look SWEET

Hmmm...I really LOVE the simplicity of five-spoke racing wheels. Easy to clean, and provides cooling to brake components.

Are they really as light as Volk Racing advertises?

A great open-track racing fitment would be 9 x 17, 45-mm front with 245/45-17 R3S03 Hoosiers and 10 x 17, 45-mm rear 275/40-17 R3S03 Hoosiers!

I was originally scheduled to get the GT-C's in Bronze but found out they were not shipping yet, so i got the Advan Model 5's in bronze, those got F-d up so i changed to the Gram Lights.

If the "Gram Lights" are as light as everyone posts, for an FD Rx7, I'd go with 17s in 9-inch wide, 40-mm offset using 255/40-17 tires...18s might end up getting bent with low-aspect ratio tires on the public roads!

GROUP BUY ON GL wheels

Hello guys,

I'm gonna offer our annual Group buy/end of year sale on the Gram lights lineup.

If interested please contact me and I'll submit pricing. I'd like to gather between 5 and ten sets of GL's to close the deal. This worked out pretty smoothly last year and this year should be even easier.

If I got an idea of fitment and colors desired I would be able to bring those in for stock in the future.

Thanks, Rishie

Alright so I measured all the Volks and it's consistent. The wheels are consistently half an inch wider in effective width than the known "printed" width. This pertains in particular to the Volks and Kinesis and Gram Lights wheels. The SSR's seem to be a bit larger of a deviation. If manny has the opportunity to measure the integrals we might be able to find a pattern.

Therefore the 9.0" measures 9.5" in reality and the 10 is 10.5" and so on. This is for Volks and Enkei's tuning wheels. I checked both.

According to my calculations, with an overall width of 9.5 a +40mm offset you yield a [F] ~ 81mm [B] ~ 161mm

According to measurements mentioned by Sleep, our limits on 4" springs are [Fmax4] = 89mm, [Bmax4] = 185mm
2.5" springs are [Fmax25] = 89mm, [Bmax25] = 190mm.

I'll look at the Kinesis invoices and see what the real measurements are for those and what offsets we're acquiring. When we installed them on an FD equipped with JIC FLT-A2's it appeared to have more available backspacing than the indicated amount.

I will conclude this question for myself. hehe. So I guess the Gram Lights in a 9" +40 should work with a 245/35 for sure as it's the same O.D. as the 285/30.

Manny, does this sound correct. I'm putting orders in on Monday and would like to make a pretty good interpolation of this. I'll be able to tell tommorrow when I look at the Kinesis measurements.

Thanks, Rishie

I had contemplated the bronze vs silver 57Pros...but after seeing them on a car...gdamn! Bronze it is. Now if only I could find the rec'd offsets for 17x8 and 17x9 on an S13 that fits flush and won't rub. My old school Work Emotion 16x7s at +32 are perfectly flush and i love it.

Unfortunately the 7's only come in +40
the 9's come in +35.

Those should work real well.

The SSR Integrals in 9 x 17, 45-mm offset are closer to 10-inches wide in overall width. Since the Grams are 0.5-inch narrower, that means you can go 5-mm more outboard and have the same front space as the SSR Integral 9 x 17. I do my numbers converted to inches

Front Space for 45-mm SSR IA2 works out to 10/2 - 1.77 = 3.23 inches

Front Space for 40-mm Gram Light 57 Pros is 9.5/2 -1.57 = 3.18 inches

So from a front space clearance perspective you're good with a 40-mm 9-inch wide Gram Light!

Now let's do back space clearances. We know that 7.25 inches is the maximum clearance inboard for stock style 4-inch springs.

Back space for SSR IA2s, 45-mm offset is simply the wheel's overall width less the front space clearance:

10 - 3.23 = 6.8

For Gram Light 57 back space is 9.5 - 3.18 = 6.3

So at least theoretically your customers shouldn't have any problems running 9 x 17, 245/40-17s or perhaps event 255/40-17 tires. In the case of 18s, then 245/35-18 tire sizes would be ideal, as you recommended below.

FWIW, our numbers agree if you convert my numbers to millimeters, or if you convert your numbers to inches

To all of Rishie's customers--Enjoy your new wheels and tires!!

Where it says "OFFSET & RIM DEPTH(mm)" is that the measurement of the polished lip of the wheel?

Is there a site that lists the rec'd offsets for certain sizes on cars? I guess the only thing I can do is measure what room I have left with my +32 works and my Tein HAs and work from there.
