quick question

Anybody running 255/35/18 in the front. Do you have any problem keeping the tires aligned and balanced. Does the car "jerk" to a side when you hit a hole or some uneven pavemnt.
I bought some 255/35/18 and my mechanic told me that was a bad decision and now its kind of hard to return the tires.
Just need some info on what I should do!..Keep thais size or bite the bullet and buy two 225/18 for the front.

Help

Why would there be an alignment/balancing issue? Trust me, there isn't.

Wider, stickier tires WILL tramline more than the stock tires -- they will tend to follow road irregularities more because of both the increased width and the stickier tires. This is sometimes exaggerated by an improper alignment.

Bottom line, if you want more grip up front, you're going to have to live with a little tramlining. It's a fact of life with wider tires.

I don't see why you would have any major issues with the 255's. I say if you can't return them anyways, mount them and see what you think. I say they should be fine for the most part.

255/35 18s should NOT be mounted on 18x8.5" wheels. The best tire fit would be a 235/40 but 245/35 will work. 255/35 will not work.
