question about installing struts myself

First question is... If the struts/spring combo I buy comes with the spring already installed on the strut, do I still need a spring compressor to install on vehicle? and next question, Im buying lowering springs for better handling, and do I need to cut away the bump stopper to get to fit properly? Ive heard some aftermarket shock require this. Im looking for a straight forward installation, without customizing anything if this is possible then I feel I can do it myself. Any help would be appreciated

You won't need the compressor. I didn't do anything with my bumpstops, but I'm running Eibach Pros with Tokico Illuminas. You car will run low w/o rims though. I have to pull up on my fenders to slide my jack into position to lift the car. Good luck!
