proper strut bar installaion?

Hello all,
quick n00b question,
I had read that to properly instal a strut bar it is best to have the wheels off the ground. My car has had a front strut bar for a long *** time ( I bought it with it )
would it make a difference If I removed it and re-installed it the correct way?
I assume it wasn't installed correctly the first time.
thanx for the help

Hogwash. The strut bar is merely a brace. With the wheels on the ground the chassis is bearing the load of the car just as it will when driving and that's how you want it when installing the bar.

^^ Yep.

There have been people who have had problems getting the some of the bars installed. In those cases, they needed a little extra clearance by unloading the tension on the front suspension; but it's not a requirement.

Park your car on level ground, and loosen the end links. Then simply tighten them. You don't need/want any preload on the strut bar.
