Problem installing Koni shocks??
Anyone have problems installing Koni shocks in their FD? I just went to install mine tonight, and for some reason the front shock will not go into the lower control arm. Comparing to the old shock, the Koni seems wider. Any ideas?
TIA

No problems, I just wraped a T-shirt around them as I worked them into the triangles of the control arms so the paint did not get all scratched up. LOL I know that that is pathetic but I wanted to keep all the paint on them.

There is a steel bushing pressed into the aluminum control arm where the bottom bolt goes. Look very closely and you'll see it sticks out. Tap it back with a hammer and the Koni will go right in.
Been there with you. FYI the rear toe links are the same; I had to tap them back to get my Pettit links in.

Ah yes I do know what your talking about now. yup when the bolt that holds the bottom of your old shock in place was tightened it pusted in this bustinh to take up the space between the shock (legs) and the control arm. You can tap them back towards the outside of the swing arm or if you can find a leverage point you can push them back out (gently) They will move in a little when you retighten the bolt. I almost ground the shock's bushing down before I saw this bushing in the swingarm.
