I also took the time to re-polish a few parts and I refurbished all the plastic panels in the interior. Seats are being recovered and the carpet replaced. New paint, new engine, etc...I took two weeks off of work to complete the car!

Picked up the Volks this morning from the powdercoating place. They looked so good I about cried! They look phenomenal. For those considering powdercoating black, go with the satin finish. It's baaaad ***. Pics later this evening when I get home.

Here are more images of the wheels on and off the car. I didn't weigh them to measure the weight increase but I can't imagine it's more than a few ounces. They look, IMHO, really really sharp. Definitely worth the money. The only issue I'm having is getting the center caps back on. I had those powdercoated as well and it may have closed up the tolerances too far. I may dremel the powdercoating off the inside of the hub area and around the inside lip of the center caps too.

It's a "satin" black powdercoat. I saw the glossy and thought it'd be too much. The satin finish is definitely the way to go, IMHO. It just looks tough. The car is shiny enough as it is and gloss would have just blended everything together.
I agree, they do look better than when they were new!

Car will be going in to have the new nose and a few door dents taken care of so it may be a few weeks before I can get overall images of them on the car.

Well I decided on a new set of shoes for the rims...the Kumhos that are on there now are pretty much toast but they'll work for break-in miles. Hankook is offering their Ventus RS2's in a 265 width now but they're special order through Discount Tire Direct which means two to three weeks out. Seems a lot of manufacturers are getting away from the 265/35/18 size these days when they had a tire in that size just a year ago. It's an OEM Porsche fitment so I figured it'd be offered for just about forever! I've priced the Hankooks at other stores and they're under $200/ea. which is $30 less than the Falken RT615's in the same size. I use the Falkens on my Evo and love them. They're decent in the wet but not stellar whereas the Hankook should be a bit better. A good thing considering the weather down here.

Thanks Rishie! How do you usually get the center caps in? I'm assuming just a good whack with a rubber mallet?
nutbagsan, It's a 45mm offset all around. I have one fender up front that rubs because the fender isn't adjusted right (pulled in to compensate for an average fitting fiberglass nose). The other side does not rub at all and the fenders are not rolled. In back, the fenders are rolled. But even if they weren't, there wouldn't be any rubbing. In fact, they could stand to be another 5-10mm out, so even a 40mm offset would probably work. I can easily fit 285 series tires on the back as is. The car is on coil overs and is much lower than stock. You'll need coil-overs to clear the springs with 9.5" wide tires. I've owned these for what, four years or so and I've never regretted having them in this size. I think I was the first to run this setup as a matter of fact! Rims purchased through Rishie of course

any pictures of them on the car? im just wondering i would like to see how flush they sit with the body. wheels themselves look great.
i want to run a lower offset, i just want to see if i might just want to get flares or just roll. helps looking at other cars to get an idea.

I don't have any good shots on my laptop at the moment but I do have one that might show it a bit. I also ran very tall tires, 265/35's, the Kumho 712's. Other tires in the same size tend to be a bit shorter.

The bottom one...but I already have the caps themselves. The gold part in the center, the aluminum "wafer" with the Volk logo pressed into it, that's what I'm looking for. Those are actually just glued to the face of the center caps. There's a hole in the back of the center cap and you can attempt to push the wafer out, pop it off, but let's just say it doesn't work too well, without damaging it anyway as it's very thin.
