Please help with the math. Who has the best deal on Tein Ha coilovers?

Please help with the math. Who has the best deal on Tein Ha coilovers?

what set up should I go with? Tein ha? or Koni reds I saw on ebay for 504.00 and adding the ground control coilovers for 629.00 or Tokico Illumina 370.00 and adding the ground control for thoes struts at 629.00 I need to have the adjustable coilovers. I have 350 at the rear wheel and it will be a daily street driver. I want to have fun with twisties also. I need an experience person to tell me what is the best set up for the buck and for what I need. WHO HAS THE BEST DEAL ON TEIN HA. Thanks

FD or FC

either those or the HEs. they have the same spring rate, (448lb/in front-336rear, or 8-6kg/mm f-r) but are more adjustable: camber plates and threaded mounts.. i can do the HAs for $1000 even, the HEs for $1210
I would recommend the HEs, because youre eventually going to want adj. pillowball uppers anyways.

Do 30 minutes research on the net and you can probably come close: go to your favorite search engine, and type in "Tein and HA and price".

Do what I did, and get a quote from www.shox.com. Then do your search and take it from there. Don't forget to include shipping.

HA's have since been discountinued. I have tried numerous suspension combinations on different cars, and the best setup as yet I have experienced are the Tein Flex Type coilovers currently on one of my FD's, the one I'm selling on this site. The FD deserves a top-of-the-line suspension setup, and with independent adjustment of the spring rate, ride height, AND 16-way dampers, this setup is good for the track or for taking the females (one at a time) out to the club. My FD sits 3" off the ground from the lowest point on the undercarriage, but I have yet to scrape, even on San Francisco's steep hills. I have just enough adjusment to slam the chassis to the ground actually. Minor rubbing on steep driveways, but that's nothing. I got mine for about $1800, and you won't be able to find a set for much less than that. I you go with a cheap set of springs, expect a set of springs too soft for the amazing 0.75" drop that will have your car bottoming out, tearing up your bumpstops and damaging your shocks, and very likely your car's frame. Just ask my '96 MX6 LS what the Intrax replacement springs driving in downtown SF a.k.a. Pothole Central. The unusually rigid front end still wasn't enough to hold up against these shocks, which claimed to be "progressive." It now rides on Tokiko Illuminas with 425/350-lb coilovers front/rear, and the difference is like night and day. The choice is yours, either way, you will get what you pay for. The Flex Types have rates of 550 in front and about 448 in the rear. The next step up is only if you want daily headaches and is the closest thing to a solid-mount setup with rock hard 1000-lb springs front and rear. You don't need anything more than the Flex Types. These also come with the upper pillow ball mounts standard, completely replacing the suspension and any sloppiness asociated with the soft stock uppers. In changing the front, you need to remove the upper suspension arm in two places. With this extra work, this is something you only want to do once and get it right the first time (just like everything else on a car). If you want what's best for your car, get true coilovers. I've lowered my FD 1-/12 in all the way around, which has left about 1-1/2 degree of negative camber at all 4 wheels. The front is set at 13 (of 16), and the rear at 10. If I was keeping the car, I'd actually take the back down another 1/4 in, and it would handle perfect then. Now, it merely handles like a dream. If you can find the HA's (undamaged) for $600, pick them up. I'd go with Tein instead of the Illuminas because of the upgrade in quality and range of adjustability.
