225/50-16 = 24.86" (stock)
235/40-17 = 24.40"
235/45-17 = 25.33"
Sorry I'm a week late here, but someone might find this in a search later, so...

17x8.5 +40 fits stoptechs.
17x9 +45 does not fit stoptechs.
Read my thread https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/maximum-wheel-tire-width-fitment-guide-fd-892901/

Some pics after a quick bath, 18x9.5 +45 and 18x10 +38 (thanks Rishie ) with Yoko AD08 255/35 and 265/35. You can see the difference between the convex and concave face on my fronts. Zero fender mods, so far as good after about 8 Dragon's Tail runs and two road race track days
Edit: you'll notice the ride height isn't slammed, with the roads here in NJ I've found it necessary to raise the car a bit. I'm sure this has contributed to my lack of fitment problems

Have you taken a look at what I posted in the other thread in this section, where you and Natey went at it? I'd like to get your reaction on it, unless you just don't give a damn.

So this is getting a 7 year bump I guess. My FD has the D2 brake kit 356mm and it's currently on 18x9.5 et30 Japan Racing JR11 wheels. They are deep concave shitty weds knockoffs but they clear the big brakes leaving a lot of space.
I have ordered a set of RPF1s with the front ones being 18x9 et35. Do you think these will clear them?

They should clear. I would have suggested the RPF1 18x9.5 +45 offset. Those are known to clear the Stoptech kit for the FD as I've done it many times. If you compare the stoptech template to your D2 template you can get a good relative comparison. The 9.5 +45 would have been less aggressive and given a wider footprint vs the 9 +35. I run 255/35/18 all around with that setup. Minor tab bending of the fender liner tab up front but that's it. The 9 +35 might require a little more.

Yeah but if the current wheels that came with the car (18x9.5 ET30) clear then these 18x9 ET35 would clear too right? It's currently rubbing inside the fender liner on full lock though
