I'd like to get the '99 J-SPEC, however, I'd like them to be 8.5-wide all around, instead of the stock staggered set.

Anyone have a set for sale or know of source ?

True, the Spirit-R wheels are made by BBS and shape-wise are RGR-Rs...BUT, they have been custom made for Mazda in a special offset and spoke shape for additional caliper clearance, and you cant buy them directly from BBS. Also, they have a special finish which is actually different than the black diamond sold through BBS. They have a lighter gunmetal finish with the sides of the spokes actually 'smoked' with a darker paint to so that they go from a dark look from some angles to shiny gunmetal at others.

Just looking through all the Rotary Japan meets, they seem to have great turn outs. How come we(US rotary clubs) can't have fun like that...

Yea, 8.5s would be nice all the way around wouldn't it These wheels are very hard to get but if you buy them new you can pay more for 4 8.5s.

fronts: 17x8, rears: 17x8.5

offset is +50 for both, bolt pattern is 5/114.3, centerbore is 67.1mm

I don't know the exact weight, but they are very likely 16-17 lbs each.

too bad the offset is so high, those are cool and would otherwise fit on my car really well (240sx).

in case anyone wants a set, www.RBmotoring.com has a set for $500, though they are listed as 16".

J-spec wheels came in a 5-spoke 16" version too.

They look different also. And the 17" have efini center caps rather than the flying "M", well mine did anyway.
