Pick best rims for me, photo included!

Help me pick the best rims for my RX7!!!

Best for red color and traction.

I want 17's.

Price not the objective, looks and trction are.

I thought of chroming them w/255's, take care of traction at basic bpu?

Robbie

I'm not sure. The guy said it was a limited option on late '93 R-1.

I need more traction, hence the rim thought!

Those are stock rims man, only come 16x8's. Good luck fitting a 255 on there. The biggest I have heard is 245/45-16, I had set on mine they are great. You can always powdercoat your rims insted of chrome, IMO it looks a lot better.

Yours look good. They are already powdercoated. Or are you suggesting a certain color?
I meant 245's!

Oh and the Powder coat looks good 7-s. Will 245's take care of my traction issues?

This guy in Ohio, Ben Graves, I can get you his e-mail if you want it. I paid $120 for mine but I sandblasted them myself.

Thanks, 245's shouldnt be bad just get some nice tires. I had Pirelli P7000's and I didnt get the BEST traction, I just put on Michelin Pilot XGT-Z4's and they stick great with 310 rwhp.

The widest tire you can fit on all corners is 285/30-18 with coilovers on 18x10s. I think the widest tires you can fit on the back is like 315/30 or something, not sure, there was something on the forum like that a while ago. Fiske are really sweet looking wheels but expect to pay the $$$$.

Adjustable springs and shocks. The shocks adjust your ride stiffness and the springs will adjust the ride hight, two seperate things in a coilover. With lowering springs you can ONLY lower they are not adjustable. Use the Search buttonin the top right coner or:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/search.php
that will show you most of the info you need.

What kind of tires do you have on there now? If you have a set of Pep Boy specials on there now, I can imagine you having all sorts of traction porblems. If you don't mind keeping the stock 16's, these should help with traction:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ireModel=A032R

Don't expect them to last too long though, but gaurenteed to cure your traction blues.

Or match them with your fav set of 17's if money is no issue. Volk SE37K/As or TE37s are as light as stock in 17X8.5/17X9.5

I have the Truechoice Phase 3 on mine. You can do without any mod you just
upgrade whatever aspects you choose. The stock suspension is sufficient for road
and light track use.

They have the original tires that came from the factory. The car only has 16k miles. Could they be dryrotted if kept garaged?

Damn, so at the very least they are 7 years old?! I go thru a set at least every 8 months to a year. Yeah, they could be 'tired' regardless of how much tread is left.

7-sins: I think I asked you this before, but do you have a daytime pic of your car? Mine is white too, and I like that powdercoating idea, but that pic is not very good.

Nice! I really like the one in pic 16. Which one looks better in real life Drew? I know sometimes pics don't do justice.
