Thumbs up Personal Review: Stance Coilover on my FD

Well, here is my personal review of the Stance Coilover Kit on my ’94 FD. I know Dana has been waiting for this. I had these installed by him and his crew about two weeks ago, and have been waiting to check my pre-loads before I did a review. First and foremost I have to give major props to Dana and the crew at Auto RnD for giving me a great deal, not only on the kit, but also on some new tires, and an alignment. They were completely helpful and professional from beginning to end with everything. Major kudos goes to Dana though; he came in quite early to work on my car, just so I could be back to work. With that said, here is my review.

Visually I was impressed on how nice and beefy the kit looked. Installation was a breeze; well for Dana that is…lol When everything was done, and I took it for a spin, I could feel a major difference on how the car rides over the stock ones. The ride is so much smoother and handles very well around corners. The ride height of the car is set to 25 ¼” all the way around. After everything settled in. I noticed the height to be a bit off, so I am going back to have Dana make the proper adjustments. I would do it myself, but I prefer to have someone, who I trust, set it perfectly. After putting several hundred miles on it, I checked the pre-loads to make sure they were not loose, per Dana’s recommendation. I noticed the fronts had very little play, but only when I put some force into it. The rears were solid, no movement at all. I will have to double check the fronts though and give Dana a call to get a confirmation on how they should be. Well, after speaking with Dana, he said they should be fine and I should not worry about it.

One thing I cannot really give you an opinion on is the dampening. Mainly because I enjoy the setting they are in right now. Currently, they are on full soft. I am waiting on my rear adjustment ***** to arrive, since they did not come with them. Even though they are set on soft the ride comfort is great. Before leaving I spoke with Rishie, and he suggested trying 5 on the fronts and 7 on the rears. He noticed that these settings seem to be optimal for street use, if I recall correctly. I will try these settings once I get my adjustment *****. I could make the adjustments without them, but I prefer using the *****. My spring rates are 12k all the way around. Per my conversation with Dana, we figured these would be good for street and occasional track use if, and when I decide to go.

Overall, I am very pleased with this Coilover Kit. I completely love them, and feel they were worth every penny I spent. Once again, I want to thank everyone at RnD, who helped work on my car that day. On a side note, why did you have to **** up my wheels Dana, huh?... The paint is coming off now, and whoever took my lug nut better give it back...j/k

Btw Dana, how did those pics come out?
