I did this... i got some fd stock rims (all four with rubber for $100). They were kind of scratched up on the edges... curb marks. So I painted them. First I sanded them with 100 grit paper to get all of the scratches out. Then I primed them, painted them with "datsun silver", and then clear coated them. This costs less than $20 and you can get the paint at any discount autoparts store. After you sand them... rinse them with soap and water and dry them really well. Then holding the spray can about six inches away from the wheels, put on a coat of primer on them. Let this dry for about an hour and a half to 2 hours... then spray a coat of base silver over them (they will look nice by now). Let the base dry for a couple of hours and then spray a coat of clear on them; be careful not to spray too much clear!!! this will cause it to run and it won't look good. Spray a light mist of clear and let it dry... then do it again; that's TWO coats of clear. Now your wheels should look brand new. I used 1 big can of spray primer, 2 cans of datsun silver, and 2 cans of clear. This should run you about 17 dollars with tax. Have a nice day
