Gunmetal, not a fan of the "spare" tire look but moderately dark enough.

Black, looks like a killer yellow version of RX7Rage's car! (Minus the Volks he has, LoL!)

Painting FD wheels on a CYM: stock, gunmetal, or black? ***POLL w/ PICS***

Hey all...without breaking the the bank for some real aftermarket wheels (for now anyways), I figure I can do some DIY wheels instead. Rather put more towards some reliable recommendations/engine work. Anyhow, which do you like best: stock, gunmetal or gloss black...on my CYM? The yellow n' black w/ subtle hints of red are my current combo colors. I see a several folks that have wheels done like this which is extremely nice and cheap to do. Also, I didn't know but Japan offered the 1992 RX-7 Type RZ and 1995 RX-7 Type R Bathurst X models with black-painted wheels. Pretty cool and wanted to share that.

P.S. ...whether it's gunmetal or black, the red brake calipers will stand out a lot more.

STOCK

GUNMETAL

BLACK

BTW, I reversed the photo so the exhaust is missing and photoshopped the gas-cap out. I dunno, I always liked car photos when the cars are facing right. Dunno, a photography-geeky thing I guess...."the intent of forward movement." LoL.

I would go with black.

Btw, what is your suspension setup? Car looks really low.

Voted for stock, but black wouldn't be too bad in this case since the car isn't black. Def. NOT gunmetal, again because of the color of the car.
