Opinions needed: 10" wide rims

i have stock rims on my 89 gxl right now and can get really cheap 18"s from a friend. The aftermarket rim is closer to 10" wide. Whats everyone think about how they'd look on a rx7? I figure they might stick about maybe an inch or less...Any opinions would be appreciated...
-Thanks

do you have stock suspension?
i highly doubt they would work with stock springs

I run 15x10" wheels on the race car. They all have 5" of backspacing and because of the face design I had to run about 1/2" of spacer so the wheel would not hit the front brake calipers giving me effectively a 4.5" backspaing.

They stick WAY out of the fenders. If I remember correctly they stick out around 2.5". Unless you jack up the height of your car I don't think you could run a 18" wheel this wide.

I think with more backspaing a 18x10" wheel could fit in the rear but there is not enough room to the inside in the front to allow that much backspacing (even with aftermarket springs).

When I get home, if the batteries in my camera are not dead I will take and post some pics showing how far the wheels stick out.

I don't think there is enough total spacing no matter which way you cut it to fit a 10" wheel in the back of an FC with stock fenders and even with 2.5" springs.

I've gone through them all on the FC and don't see how it would work.

What you'll need to do is find out the exact specifics of these wheels. Such as the real width, you mentioned closer, which should be printed on the wheel's pad as well as it's offset.

Photos of 10" wide wheels

Here is what 15x10" wide wheels look like on an FC. They stick out 2.25" from the outmost part of the fender.
