Ohlins DFV Install Guide or Settings?

Hey guys, I recently got a used set of DFV coilovers. I was wondering if anyone can upload the guide that comes with it, post the recommended settings by Ohlins, or post your own setup.

I can probably figure out the height on my own, I'm just wondering what the recommended pre-load should be. I'll primarily be using them for street and some autocross.

I've done a little bit of searching and people generally agree that preload is not important, so I'm just wondering how much should the spring be compressed.

Thanks in advance.

Recommended preload is 2mm. Basically, a minimal amount that ensures the spring has some compression in it at full droop. Unfortunately I'm 1000 miles away from my Ohlins manual/instructions so can't give you the other relevant dimensions...

I recently put in a new set, and am so far quite happy with all the factory settings.
Per memory, preload was 2mm, and shock stiffness was 10 clicks in both front and rear. I was able to find manuals on the internet before I actually got mine, either direct from Ohlins or one of their re-sellers.

Good choice for shocks and springs!

IIRC, front preload was 2mm and rear was 1.8mm, which is basically 2mm

Not sure which manual you read, but the one I'm looking at says 2mm in the rear as well

Its all in the details

Hi Group, Ive just purchased an ex track FD3S with Ohlins DFV shocks and springs (630lb/Inch rate). Im assuming the shock adjustment is for rebound only and would be interested in knowing what other users have set their rates to. The manual is rather vague and mentions 10 clicks as a starting point, is this 10 clicks clockwise from fully anti clockwise or the other way around?
Cheers

Adjustment is for both rebound and compression damping.

Adjust by turning the adjuster all the way in (clockwise). Don't apply excessive force! Then turn out and count clicks. I started at 10 clicks out, but for me that felt too bouncy. I wound up at 6 clicks out front and rear on the street and 4 clicks out front, 5 clicks out rear at the track.

Just another silly question regarding the Ohlins DFV shock absorbers, Ive noticed that the top adjustment ***** can be lifted out and adjusted under slight upwards spring tension, as well adjusted without lifting the knurled **** upwards. The "Click Resistance" feels different between either adjustment.
Are these seperate settings (I.e: One for Bump and the other setting for Rebound)... Or are they both the same and change both compression and rebound settings at the same time?

Thanks in advance

It's not a separate adjustment, pulling the **** up just disengages it. I.e., with the **** pulled up, you aren't really moving the adjustment needle.

Thanks Mikky7, Ironically we didnt know we were getting the FD3S with Ohlins, It came in from Japan that way :-)
I havnt managed to find much about these shocks, let alone a manual for them... Just a basic sheet with spring preload settings and thats about it.

I was wondering if any one was able to take off the top adjuster to reach the 4mm allen head of the shock absorber shaft?
