Offset question for my first gen
Tried to get my question answered on the 1st gen page but noone was able to help me so I thought I'd come here to ask. I know some of you have 1st gens and know the tire selection is quite limited. So I got a bolt pattern adaptor from my 4*110 to 5*114.3 but now the problem is that I'm almost finished my restore and ready to buy some wheels but I have know idea which offset that I'd need. I'm going with 17*8 havn't decided on which wheel company but really need a hand on the offset issue before I can go any farther.

You need to buy these wheels and toss out that bolt pattern adaptor.

ok...im going to help you out since no one else seems to be trying too. OK, i own a first gen also and seem to be having the same problem...luckily for you though...i happen to be pretty damn good at offset questions. (been there done this) ok so your going to go with 17x8's if you do want to get rid of the wheel adapter (which tend to crack under serious loads) then RS watanabe does make a wheel for 4x100 that is 8" wide 16's and 17's i believe...they have a nice lip (around 0 and -5) website here http://www.takumiproject.com/brand.a...=RS%20WATANABE not sure on what style you are looking for but...depending on if your wanting flushness to the fenders or not...first thing is first though on finding the offset you want. measure front the wheel hub to the edge of the fender.. that will tell you how far the wheel can go out...anywho...if you can tell me what that measurment is then i can help you fully on the offset you are looking for...and if you decide to keep the 5x114.3 adapter (which will make finding decent offset wheels easier) then i would also need to know the size of the adapter (I.E. 5mm, 15mm, ect) anywho...hope that may help you some
