Offset for 17 x 9s?

I have a 93 R1 and want to put new wheels on it. What offset would I need on the rear for 275/35/17s on 17 x 9 wheels?

Hey where did you find 275/35-17 tires???? That's the perfect overall diameter for a 275-mm section width!

Wait...275s are too wide for 9-inch rims. You'll need at least 9.5 or 10s!

offsets

Yokohama used to make their AVS Intermediate in 275-35, but I don't think these are available anymore.

You can run 40 to 50mm offset out back with 17x9. I've had 275-40s on this rim with a 40mm offset, but as the others said, that's too wide. A 265 is pushing it as well, I recommend 255-40 or 245-40.

FWIW, my Yokohama AVS Intermediates in 255/40-17 are a PERFECT FIT on my 9x17, 45-mm offset SSR Integral A2s all the way around (with H&R Sport Springs, Eibach sway bars fr/rr, R1 shocks).

I run 275/40 17's on my SSR A2's haven't had any problems, though I may move down to 265's or 255's just so I can get some S-03's.

Here's an old pic with 255-40-17 on the rear and 235-40-17 front. Sorry, I don't have any pics of 255s on the front.

Thanks! They're 45mm front and 40mm rear. Others will confirm that 45 is the way to go with 17x9.

Go here for more pics (different wheel colors, chassis height, tire sizes, etc)-> http://www.purplemantis.com/RX-7/rx7.htm
